    Kishani comes home

    The University is gearing up for the highlight of the musical year with the annual concert by the University Orchestra and Choir at the Albert Hall in Nottingham.Last-minute preparations have been put in place and gruelling rehearsals are still taking place to ensure the concert goes smoothly.     Randall steps down from Telegraph role

    Nottingham alumnus, Jeff Randall is to step down from his role as editor-at-large of the Daily Telegraph.Randall (Economics 1979), the BBC’s former Business Editor, will continue to write a weekly column for the newspaper but is set to expand his Sky News role, taking his business show to four nights a week. / ......more

    New technique to study the genetics of breast cancer

    A new technique to study genetic changes that can lead to breast cancer could be one step closer.The University of Nottingham has received £15,000 from the charity Breast Cancer Campaign to fill in one of the research gaps identified by the country’s top breast cancer experts in a recent study carried out by the charity. The aim is to identify the many undiscovered genes thought to be involved in the early stages of breast cancer. / ......more

    GRACE ground breaking ceremony

    The University of Nottingham and the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) have performed a ground-breaking ceremony on 11 November to signal the start of work on a £9m state-of-the-art facility in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).The project combines a grant of £3.4m from emda with university investment to develop the facility on The University of Nottingham Innovation Park adjacent to the Jubilee Campus. / ......more

    Malaysian Games 2008 at The University of Nottingham

    The biggest Malaysian sporting event in the UK was held at The University of Nottingham on November 8.More than 5,000 Malaysian students from 60 UK universities converged on University Park to take part in a day of sports and games.The student athletes competed for glory in football, squash, chess, scrabble, netball, snooker, basketball, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis during a full day of tournaments. Senior representatives of the Malaysian government were also in attendance. / ......more
