Horse owners are most likely to use their vet to guide the choice of nutritional supplements they feed their animal, but also rely heavily on recommendations from other riders, a unique study has revealed.Early findings from the research, being led by the School of Veterinary Sciences at The University of Nottingham, also found that joint and mobility and behaviour problems topped the list of owners concerns when seeking supplements for their horse. / ......more
Being IT savvy is more important than ever with so much of the modern world reliant on email, digital images and the Internet. Some of those least likely to be confident IT users are people over the age of 50 and research has shown that this could lead to economic and social disadvantage. The University has been working in partnership with Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire (RCAN) on its Big Lottery funded IT Community Champions Project to help address this issue and alumni can help spread the word to get more people to benefit from the support on offer. / ......more
